When our Christian faith is an important part of who we are and how we live life, it is hard to imagine not having your faith be part of your therapy experience.
As a therapist who understands, accepts, and supports a Christian worldview, I am here to help you integrate your faith into your therapy experience. I am also here to help if you’d like to explore if a stronger and more resilient faith may be what is missing from your life.
Scripture and the Human Condition
There is nothing new about the human condition.
Jesus understands the human condition. There is nothing on earth that is out of his experience or understanding. He loves and cares about us.
The truth is, when you are in the midst of troubling life events like the loss of a job, the loss of a loved one, financial uncertainty, health fears, or marriage/relationship issues, we are instructed not to rely on our own strengths but to instead:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3: 5-6 ESV
Christian Therapy Offers More
In Christian counseling we will integrate scripture, biblical teaching and the psychological theories and techniques of cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, psychodynamic therapy and mindfulness to help identify patterns and behaviors that are inconsistent with God’s teachings and develop practical tools to set you on a path of healing.
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,” 2 Timothy 3:16 ESV
You don’t have to have all the answers
